Electronic Technician

Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems from blueprints and technical diagrams. Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers. Identify electrical problems and repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures. Follow state and local building regulations based on National Electrical Code.

Electrical Technology-Electronic Technician

The Electronics Technology Program is a four semester program on the Wesson Campus with a combination of both theory and laboratory experience. The graduate will be capable of entry-level employment in the many fields of electronics. Some of these fields are: communications, instrumentation and control, computers, business machines and avionics.

Students learn to install, maintain and repair electrically energized systems found in residential, commercial and industrial settings.

Pre-requisites required:
Submit an application for enrollment to the Office of Admissions and Records at Hinds Community College. Request that an official high school transcript or GED scores and ACT scores be sent to the Office of Admissions and Records if you are a high school graduate. Take the ACCUPLACER placement test to assess developmental needs. Interview with the instructor and complete the interview form.
