TRAINING CENTER PROGRAMS
The Medical Coding Specialist Program provides students the skills and knowledge required for entry-level positions in the medical coding field. Medical coders typically work in medical offices, clinics, hospitals and insurance companies as a part of the healthcare team. Delta Techs medical coding training instructs students in the analysis of medical records (charts) and the assignment of codes. Coding refers to transforming the written or verbal description of diseases, injuries and procedures into numerical designations. Medical coders index diagnoses and procedures to provide information for reimbursement purposes. Medical coding classes also include anatomy and medical terminology. Students will learn about diseases that affect the human body, etiology, pathology, symptoms, signs, diagnostics and treatment in order to properly code medical records. Delta Techs medical coding program gives students the training needed to become familiar with the content of a medical record. Students will learn to locate the necessary information to support or provide specificity for accurate coding.
