TRAINING CENTER PROGRAMS
The Medical Laboratory Technology curriculum is a two-year Associate of Applied Science degree program of study that prepares individuals to work in a medical laboratory. As members of the health care delivery team, clinical laboratory personnel are responsible for assuring reliable and accurate laboratory test results that contribute to the diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and prevention of physiological and pathological conditions. This program is designed to meet the standards and requirements for careers in clinical laboratory science. At career entry, the medical laboratory technician/clinical laboratory technician will be able to perform routine clinical laboratory tests (such as hematology, clinical chemistry, immunohematology, microbiology, serology/immunology, coagulation, and urinalysis) as the primary analyst making specimen-oriented decisions on pre-determined criteria. Upon successful completion of the technical program, the student will be eligible to take a national certification examination. Outcome measures for the MLT program include: Board of Certification (BOC) pass rate for graduates from 2016 2018 is 95%, the job placement rate for graduates from 2016 2018 is 100%, the program graduation rate for 2016 2018 is 96% and the program attrition rate for 2015 2017 is 4%.

The Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program prepares individuals to work in a medical laboratory under the supervision of a medical technologist or pathologist and/or other physicians. If you want to work in the healthcare field but without much direct patient contact, you may be a great fit for a career in MLT. Lab professionals work behind the scenes but contribute up to 70% of the information physicians use to make diagnostic decisions.
