Phlebotomists are trained to draw blood from a patient (mostly from veins) for clinical or medical testing, transfusions, donations, or research.

TRAINING CENTER PROGRAMS

Phlebotomy*-Phlebotomist

140 total hours (40 classroom instruction & 100 clinical) - Students will study anatomy and physiology of the circulatory system; venipuncture skin puncture; coagulation theory; equipment and order of draw; and infection control and safety. Upon successful completion of this program, students are qualified to take a certifying exam from an approved organization for formal certification.

Phlebotomy*-Phlebotomist

This non-credit healthcare program prepares applicants to sit for certification through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Registry. Upon successful completion of the program and the exam, the graduate is eligible for employment opportunities with various healthcare agencies, i.e., hospitals, clinics, physicians’ offices, community clinics. As a phlebotomist, the individual is successfully prepared to draw blood and other speci­mens for laboratory analysis.
