TRAINING CENTER PROGRAMS
This 96-hour course, available at the Golden Triangle, West Point and Scooba campuses, covers five major areas of knowledge with the intent of training the student to be a "shop floor" employee. Topics covered include Basic Computer Literacy, Safety and CPR, Blueprint Reading, Precision Measurement and an introduction to manufacturing improvement methods that include lean manufacturing, quick changeover, 5S, teamwork and problem solving.

Pre-requisites required: Summary of Program Requirements Students must complete the WorkKeys assessment at a minimum of a Silver level to participate in this course. They must also provide high school diploma or GED, social security card, and state ID. Skills Needed |

Developed to respond to core knowledge for the current and emerging industry sectors located within the north Mississippi region, the 90-hour Manufacturing Basic Skills Certification includes three national credentials - 10-hour OSHA, the American Heart Associations CPR and the Career Readiness Certificate.

This course is designed by industries within the Northeast District. The 50-hour course provides training in the essential skills defined by our manufacturing partners. It includes OSHA10 certification, the National Career Readiness Certificate (CRC/WorkKeys) and hands-on training in: quality tools, measuring instruments, lean principles, problem-solving, assembly drawings, applied math, communication, teamwork, job search, workplace discipline, critical thinking and project management. A prerequisite for this course is the Smart Start program (offered by Adult Ed).
