TRAINING CENTER PROGRAMS
Surgical Technology is an instructional program that prepares an individual to serve as a member of the surgical team to work with surgeons, anesthesiologists, certified registered nurse anesthetists, registered nurses and other surgical personnel in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibilities before, during and after surgery.

Pre-requisites required: 2 year-AAS or 12 month Certificate of Surgical Technology Summary of Program Requirements Applications are available January 1 June 1. Applicants must complete a college application and a program application. Applicants must: (1) be at least 18 years old before program completion, (2) have high school diploma or equivalency, (3) be in good physical condition as verified by medical examination and certifying report, (4) have an ACT minimum composite score of 16 with a minimum of 12 in math and reading subcores, (5) have a personal interview with the Surgical Technology Admissions Committee and be recommended by Committee for admission, and (6) pay pre-admissions fees at the Business Office that include but is not limited to pre-entrance examinations and criminal background check. Applicants accepted into the program will have additional requirements, such as a physical exam, immunizations, TB test, and CPR/Basic Life Support certification. Surgical Technology is an instructional program that prepares an individual to serve as a member of the surgical team to work with surgeons, anesthesiologists and certified registered nurse anesthetists, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibilities before, during, and after surgery. This program includes the education of all aspects of surgical technology including the role of second assistant & circulators. The Surgical Technology Program offers classroom and clinical experiences for the entry-level surgical technologist which includes courses in aseptic technique, operative procedures, patient care, anatomy and physiology, microbiology, pharmacology, medical terminology, medical/legal aspects, technological sciences (computer, electricity & robotics), and related general education to help the student fulfill his/her role as an important, knowledgeable member of the surgical team. The goal of the Surgical Technology Program at Holmes College is to prepare competent entry-level surgical technologists in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains. Further, the Surgical Technology Department will provide students with the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge necessary to gain employment as a surgical technologist and become a contributing member of the healthcare team.

Pre-requisites required: 12 month technical program | 24 month AAS Summary of Program Requirements Application deadline is April 30th. Applicants must apply and be accepted to Holmes CC. Applicants must also complete a Surgical Tech application package. Applicant must have a minimum ACT score of 16 and be at least 18 years old. Surgical Technology program is a one-year (three-semester) program. Graduates will receive a certificate of completion or with some additional academic courses may receive the Associate of Applied Science degree. The graduate is eligible to take the national credentialing exam to become a certified surgical technologist.

Pre-requisites required: 1 year Certificate additional courses available for AAS degree. Summary of Program Requirements Applicants must apply for ICC admission and be accepted before completing a Health Science Application. Health Science Application deadline is April 1st. Applicants must: (1) be a high school graduate or have an equivalency (such as GED) and (2) have a minimum ACT score of 16. Admission is competitive; bonus points toward interview is awarded for Overall GPA, A&P I and II grades, English Comp I grades, and High School Allied Health I and II grades. Pre-requisites required: Associate of Applied Science Degree - 2 year program Vocational Certificate Program - 1 year Summary of Program Requirements Applicants must apply for Northwest admission and be accepted before completing a Program Application. Applicants must: (1) be at least 18 years of age, (2) have High school, college transcript(s) and ACT scores sent to the Senatobia campus, (3) if under 21 years of age ACT scores are required, and (4) make satisfactory scores on the TABE test.
