TRAINING CENTER PROGRAMS
The Welding and Cutting curriculum is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in the field of welding and cutting. The curriculum includes the following types of welding : Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Plasma Arc Cutting (PAC), Carbon Arc Cutting, Oxyfuel Cutting and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW).

The Welding and Cutting Program at Pearl River Community College is designed to lead to a Career Certificate, Technical Certificate or an Associates of Applied Science Degree. The Welding and Cutting Program is designed to prepare the student for entry-level employment in the field of welding and cutting. Welding is utilized in manufacturing, structural construction, pipeline construction, offshore industry, custom job shops, and is an important part of many businesses. During this program of study, students may earn National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) credentials and 10 Hour OSHA Card. The curriculum includes Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Pipe Welding, Plasma Arc Cutting (PAC), Carbon Arc Cutting, Oxyfuel Cutting, and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW). The student will learn safety in all aspects of welding and cutting.
