The Diesel Equipment Technology Program is an instructional program that provides students with competencies required to maintain and repair a variety of industrial diesel equipment, including agricultural tractors, commercial trucks, and construction equipment. The program includes instruction in the inspection, repair, and maintenance of engines, power trains, hydraulic systems, and other components. This program is offered on both the Wesson and Natchez campuses.

Students who can document mastery of these baseline competencies will not be required to repeat these competencies.This program offers a technical certificate at 53 semester credit hours for the transportation (medium to heavy trucks) option, and an Associate of Applied Science degree at 68 semester credit hours. The Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technology Program is an instructional program that provides students with competencies required to maintain and repair a variety of industrial diesel equipment, including agricultural tractors, commercial trucks, and construction equipment. The program includes instruction in inspection, repair, and maintenance of engines, power trains, hydraulic systems, and other components.
The curriculum utilizes both the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) 2014 Medium/Heavy Truck standards and the 2014 Standards for Construction Equipment Technology (AED). These documents serve as national standards for certification of medium/heavy truck and construction equipment technician programs.

The Diesel Power Technology program prepares the graduate for employment in the field of diesel power technology through experience and laboratory based applications in repairing engines, fuel injection systems, transmissions, clutches, rear ends; pneumatic and hydraulic systems, electrical systems, power trains and auxiliary systems relative to diesel mechanics.

The Diesel Equipment Technology Program is a two-year degree program that provides students with the competencies required to maintain and repair various industrial diesel equipment, including agricultural tractors, commercial trucks, and construction equipment. The program includes instruction in the inspection, repair, and maintenance of engines, power trains, hydraulic systems, and other components.
An Associate of Applied Science degree can be obtained after successful completion of two years and a certificate can be obtained upon successful completion of the first year. Entry Level ASE certification can be obtained after successful completion of the program.
