Pharmacy Technicians assist licensed pharmacists with a number of duties, including collecting, organizing and evaluating information to help pharmacists serve their patients. Working under a licensed pharmacist’s supervision, pharmacy technicians assemble medicines for prescriptions, supply medicines to patients and provide information and education to patients. They may even supervise other pharmacy staff.
Pharmacy Technicians can be seen in every pharmacy practice setting, not just retail locations. Some find careers in education, research and the pharmaceutical industry. Employment is expected to grow along with an increase in the number of older patients.
