Job Description
Nurse Assistants/Healthcare Assistants provide basic patient care under direction of nursing staff. They will provide basic care to patients, as well as assist them in daily activities they might have trouble with on their own, such as bathing.

Provide basic patient care under direction of nursing staff. Perform duties such as feed, bathe, dress, groom, or move patients, or change linens. May transfer or transport patients. Includes nursing care attendants, nursing aides, and nursing attendants. *Non-Credit Program
Pre-requisites required:Application, Copy of accepted High school diploma, GED, OR College Transcript Copy of Photo ID (You must be at least 18 years of age to participate), TB Skin Test Results: 2-Step TB Skin Test is required and must include the information (Lot #, expiration date, etc.) on the attached form. Tuition of $400 - Includes Fingerprint Criminal History Check (Cash or Money Order Only), *For infection control purposes, the clinical agency does not allow acrylic nails or overlays to be worn. **Fingerprint Criminal History Check will be conducted. Based on criminal history, the clinical agency makes the final decision as to whether the student is allowed to perform clinical practice in their facility.

The Health Care Assistant program is a one-semester program. MDCC has three area programs: MDCC Main campus in Moorhead, MS, Greenville Higher Education Center in Greenville, MS, and Golden Age Nursing Home in Greenwood, MS. The Greenville program is a daytime program. Golden Age and the program on the main campus are hybrid night programs. All programs are taught each fall and spring semester. The main campus program also offers an 11-week summer program option. Clinical experiences are provided at area healthcare agencies.
