MS Works

A strong workforce is critical to the success of any project, just as important as infrastructure, location, and access to resources. Communities that prioritize career exposure, skills training, and alignment with industry needs are better positioned to attract and retain quality jobs. AccelerateMS plays a central role in this effort by connecting education, training providers, employers, and economic development partners to ensure Mississippi’s workforce is not only available but prepared to meet the demands of a changing economy.

The Mississippi Works Fund supports these efforts by strengthening workforce development initiatives across the state, helping build a pipeline of skilled talent, supporting business growth, and enhancing Mississippi’s overall economic competitiveness.

Resources

The Mississippi Development Authority is Mississippi’s premier economic and community development agency. Companies of every size – from homegrown start-ups to international corporations – depend on MDA’s team of employees for business development assistance, support with business incentives, and access to talent from workforce training programs, colleges, and universities. MDA also helps small-to mid-sized businesses become competitive in national and global economies through a comprehensive series of international trade and investment programs.

The Mississippi Apprenticeship Program (MAP) helps companies, regardless of size, develop a Registered Apprenticeship (RA) program from the initial concept phase to registration and subsequent implementation within the company. Recognizing that RA is business-driven, MAP works closely with companies to identify the occupations and skill sets needed on their job site and build out an RA program designed to meet their needs.

MS Pathfinder is a Mississippi workforce and career guidance platform that helps people explore high-demand, high-paying careers across industries like advanced manufacturing, healthcare, energy, logistics, and information technology.
