Job Description
Also known as software engineers or systems programmers, computer programmers are tasked with designing and creating software programs, integrating systems and software, training end-users, analyzing algorithms, modifying source-code, writing system instructions, debugging, and maintaining operating systems.
Training Opportunities
East Mississippi Community College is proud to offer an Associates of Applied Science degree in Computer Programming Technology on our Golden Triangle Campus. This program is a certified Cisco Networking Academy program, as well as an approved CompTIA Academy. New students can begin this course of study in either the Fall or Spring semester. Coursework focuses on the design, coding, and testing of software applications using a variety of programming languages, database manipulation, and hardware maintenance. All classes are taught in a laboratory setting, allowing for hands-on experience with the latest technology.
