Job Description
Aviation maintenance technicians work under deadlines to inspect and maintain aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations and standards. Aviation maintenance technician ensures that the aircraft is in top working order and to then repair any problems before it leaves the ground.
Training Opportunities
This program and its curriculum is an approved Federal Aviation Regulations Part 147 school. Upon completion of the program, a student is eligible to take the prescribed written, oral and practical exams given by the Federal Aviation Administration. Showing satisfactory completion of these exams, the student will receive their Mechanic Certificate with an Airframe and/or Power plant rating, which gives them the authority to perform inspections, minor repairs, and alterations to fixed and rotary wing aircraft. Graduates will be awarded the Associate of Applied Science degree through Northwest.
Pre-requisites required:Applicants must apply for Northwest admission and also be accepted. Applicants must also complete Aviation Maintenance Program application. Applicants must: (1) have a minimum ACT composite of 15 is, (2) must have an official copy of GED, high school or college transcript, (3) interview with Aviation Program lead instruction, and (4) have a negative drug screen.
