Electronic Technician

Electrical Technology prepares students for employment in the electrical field. Classes include instruction with laboratory exercises using industry grade equipment. Students learn to install, maintain and repair electrically energized systems found in residential, commercial and industrial settings.

Hands on Lab and Lecture - Commercial and Residential Wiring, AC and DC Circuits, Electrical Drawing and Schematics, Motor Control Systems, Programmable Logic Controllers
Day or Night Classes:
Day and Night Classes are available

Pre-requisites required:
Submit an application for enrollment to the Office of Admissions and Records at Hinds Community College. Request that an official high school transcript or GED scores and ACT scores be sent to the Office of Admissions and Records if you are a high school graduate. Take the ACCUPLACER placement test to assess developmental needs. Interview with the instructor and complete the interview form.

Electronic Technician

The Electronics Technology Program is a four semester program on the Wesson Campus with a combination of both theory and laboratory experience. The graduate will be capable of entry-level employment in the many fields of electronics. Some of these fields are: communications, instrumentation and control, computers, business machines and avionics.
