Job Description
Information technology is at the heart of virtually every business today. As an IT professional, you will be a company’s “go-to” resource for vital tasks like network management, software development and database administration. IT specialists may also provide technical support and training to other employees within an organization. As technology continues to constantly change and evolve, employers need trained IT professionals to keep their systems and employees up-to-date and operating at peak efficiency. Because of this, demand is expecting to grow rapidly in the near future.
Training Opportunities
The increasing dependence on technology ensures a growing demand for qualified Information Technology graduates. The Cybersecurity & Networking Technology program on the Wesson Campus is a two-year program which will provide the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain employment as a network administrator, computer support specialist, or computer technician. The program provides training in the design, creation, and maintenance of a local area network.

The Computer Networking Technology option offers training in telecommunications, network technologies, administration, maintenance, operating systems and network planning, and implementation. Opportunities for graduates include employment as computer consultants or in networking jobs related to health care, manufacturing, telecommunications, and other businesses. The Associate in Applied Science degree is earned upon successful completion of the Computer Network Technology curriculum.

Our Computer Networking Technology program is a two-year curriculum that offers training in network technologies, network administration, maintenance, and network operating systems. You will learn how to create, install, and maintain local area networks, understand protocols and hardware environments used to access and transfer large quantities of data, and gain experience in different network environments using the latest network technologies. You’ll also gain specialty training in several areas (see below). The Associate in Applied Science degree is earned upon successful completion of the program.
